2014 8/30 – 9/4 Las Vegas

Dan-san/Hiroko met the Doi family at Las Vegas.  Uncle Jimmy fell from tripod-ladder and hit his head at the beginning of this year.  Everyone worried so much but he was getting better, and one day he called and surprised Dan-san and said that he would be going to Las Vegas, so come to meet him.

Other reasons to go there were, of course gambling, but the daughters who recently lost their mothers who were Dan-san’s Aunties, would be at there.  Dan-san couldn’t attend their Memorial Services, so he wanted to meet those cousins to convey his condolence.  Uncle Jimmy/Aunty Alice and 7 cousins Dan-san/Hiroko met.

Here are all the relatives, Uncle Jimmy and Aunty Alice, many cousins at the first night dinner at the restaurant at Golden Nugget.  Because of so many cousins that Hiroko will not mention any names and also Hiroko didn’t take the photos of some of the cousins who came later.  Hiroko wonders why there weren’t the photos including all the members taken by the waitress at the restaurant.  Hiroko has to study this new Iphone bought by Elsa.

Golden Nuggets Hotel in Downtown, Las Vegas

Dan-san/Hiroko stayed at this hotel for 4 nights and 5 days.  This is the front entrance of Golden Nuggets facing the Fremont Street, Downtown Las Vegas.

This is side view of the hotel which is very big hotel.  The most inexpensive tower called Carson Tower where the whole Dan-san family stayed, and there are 3 or 4 more towers, and around 130 rooms on each floor of the towers.  The highest room was over $200.00.

This is inside the room, at where Dan-san/Hiroko stayed.

Hiroko ordered King-size bed which is placed in the middle of the room.  The small dressing table with coffee maker is by the entrance and bathroom doors.  In the bathroom, there are shower (no hot spring-Onsen), toilet and a sink with mirror.

There is no Onsen, but Jacuzzi is.  In this hotel, there are very big pool and Jacuzzi.  It is very good for the children to play while parents played the machines.  Hiroko enjoyed the Jacuzzi three times just before the bed time, around 10 or 10:30 PM because no one is in the Jacuzzi.  During day time Hiroko went once, but so many children in the Jacuzzi and jumping in the Jacuzzi.  Hiroko could sleep well after taking the Jacuzzi

Dan-san was very tired, so he is relaxing on the king-size bed.  Opposite of the bed, there were TV on the cabinet.

Most relatives arrived later than Dan-san/Hiroko.  Uncle Jimmy called and asked to have lunch, but Dan-san/Hiroko had their lunch already, so Uncle Jimmy told Dan-san to wait at the Casino.  As usual Hiroko made breakfast and lunch, Spam sandwich and Musubi, chicken cutlet, and lots vegetable cuts, so we ate lunch at the Air Port because we arrived too early for check-in.  Now, Dan-san/Hiroko went down for Casino and looked for the sports tickets selling corner.

This is sport tickets selling corner.  Dan-san’s friend asked Dan-san to buy 2014 - 2015 Bulls and Bears tickets, and Dan-san/Hiroko bought many tickets for Bulls, Bears, Hawks, etc. for Omiyage (presents).

After that, Dan-san/Hiroko was wondering around the Casino.  This casino isn’t so big compared with the casino in the hotels on the strip.  But Dan-san/Hiroko was gambling here until Uncle Jimmy came down.  Maybe they were too busy gambling, so there aren’t any photo of the gambling place at Golden Nuggets.  Hiroko played roulette, because Lisa asked to play $10.00 for “black/13.”  Dan-san has $10.00 coupon to play roulette, so Hiroko used the tickets and $10.00 cash.  With the coupon couldn’t bet the odd number, so she put the coupon and $10.00 on the black.  Within 30 second the $10.00 and $10.00 worth coupon was gone.  Well, Hiroko decided to play another $10.00, actually put $1.00 each on the different 10 number s including “black 13.”  WOW! Within 30 second Hiroko made $35.00.  Thanks!  Well, $25.00 is for Lisa.
After that, Dan-san/Hiroko met Uncle Jimmy, and played the slot machines in the different hotel.  The family or Uncle Jimmy said they have never made any money at Golden Nugget.

Dan-san/Hiroko wasn’t so lucky.  Within 2 days, Hiroko lost over $300.00 and Dan-san also lost some.  WOW!  Hiroko has to do something.
Dan-san/Hiroko went to the Casino called California and Mine Street.  Here, Dan-san had 4 or 5 times of “four of a kind” so he recovered all his lost and made more.  He was lucky!  Thanks for that!  What was Hiroko doing?

Here is Dan-san is playing poker, and many other machines

This is California and Maine Street Hotel and Casino.  Between California and Maine Street Hotels, there are the Hawaiian restaurant, the ice cream shop, the famous chocolate shop, and two souvenir shops.  The noodle dish of the Hawaiian restaurant has always been very tasty, so Dan-san/Hiroko ate the dish one day for lunch.

This is the ice cream shop and the chocolate shop.

One of the souvenir shops

Black berry sherbet and yogurt vanilla

The girl sat next of Dan-san/Hiroko was eating ice crushed.  It looked so good.

In the Main Street Hotel Casino, there are so many beautiful antiques which were valued over 2 million dollar.  Hiroko enjoyed taking photos and looking.  One of the statues was called a “Good Luck Lady” so the guard asked Hiroko to touch the lady for the luck.  Because of this lady Hiroko recovered her loss, Hiroko wondered.  As Christians we can’t make or have any idle and also shouldn’t depend on it.  It is sin for Christians.
Deuteronomy 4:23-24 “23Be careful not to forget the covenant of the Lord your God that he made with you; do not make for yourselves an idol in the form of anything the Lord your God has forbidden.  24For the Lord your God is a consuming fire, a jealous God.”

Hopefully, you can enjoy to see these antiques.  Please visit this dream room

This is the night view of the main street called Fremont of the Downtown, Las Vegas.

No need to explain.  Just enjoy it.

This is the prize car.

This is the day view of the same street, Fremont St., Downtown, Las Vegas.

There are so many people walking around.

There are many attractions in the Downtown Street, one is Ferris Wheel, and other is human flying from one side to the other end on wire.  At night time, on the ceiling, beautiful photos were shown.

How many restaurants did the members of the Dan-san’s relatives visit?  Around 9 AM for breakfast and 5 or 6 PM for the dinner.  Between 5 family took turn to pay the regular restaurants and buffet restaurant.  Uncle Jimmy treated all of us at the Japanese buffet restaurant.  Dan-san’s sister-in-law said $28 or $29 per person at the same restaurant in Los Angles.  WOW!  Thanks, Uncle Jimmy.

This is CJ restaurant having breakfast.  It wasn’t bad.

At the restaurant in the Fremont Hotel Casino, 9 people went for the dinner.

Appetizer of hush brown with cheese, and spare rib  Most family members ate the famouse ribs at this restaurant.

Hiroko ate the chicken salad with oriental seasoning.

Well, finally, the day for leaving from this door.

Until the returning bus comes, people are playing.  Lost or win, no one knows.

Thanks for letting Dan-san/Hiroko to meet Uncle Jimmy/Aunty Alice, and 7 cousins to talk a lot, played lots of slot machines, unexpectedly seeing the beautiful antiques.
Thanks for coming home safely, and Lisa & Elsa were fine.
