8-10, 50th Wedding Anniversary, Journal, From Afar

The first daughter of Dan-san and Hiroko will be 50 years old soon.  It is scary.
Dan-san’s brother’s wife (S-san) had such carering heart for everybody.  Because of her wonderful heart the 50th Wedding Anniversary for Dan-san and Hiroko was held at the house of Amanda and Steven.  Their backyard is very spacey and pretty, where they put the beautiful tent to have the dinner.  Steven said he was taking care of the yard since April, to lawnmowing, filling the soil in the hole and making the ground flat, landscaping at the front of the house, and making vegetable beds. He made the place beautiful.  Hiroko forgot to take the photos for those landscapes.  Sorry Steven!  Amanda ordered some foods, but she cooked most of the foods all day long.  Elsa went to help her, so she knew how hard Amanda worked to prepare the dinner.  Elsa told Hiroko that money can’t buy Amanda’s hard work, so just love her and say thanks.  Amanda purchased the Disk Jockey Jimmy for the party.  It was wonderful idea.  You can see in the photos how all of the attendees enjoyed the music and Jimmy’s singing.  Amanda and Steven’s hard work made possible this wonderful anniversary celebration.  Thank you!

Dan-san’s brother (T-san) and his whole family came for the celebration from the out of states.
First of all, T-san and S-san came from California.
This is their room to say for three nights.  Hiroko made some body wash gloves and dish wash cloth for them.  Hiroko will post those crafts in the craft category in near future.
This is the first night dishes.  T-san loves Chicken cutlet, so there are chicken cutlet and BLT salad, and Four Beans and Corn Salad, and Tofu with condiments.
Here is long time friend Leo, T-san and S-san, and Dan-san
Second night, Goya Chanpuru was cooked, but T-san and Dan-san said they would not eat the Goya, so sausage and some vegetable from Dan-san garden were served.
Third night, T-san and S-san invited their friend and Dan-san/Hiroko to the Calo Italian Restaurant.
Good bread basket, sea food salad and green fresh salad, whole ribs, and pizza.

Friday, the second daughter of T-san/S-san, Yap family, and the family friend, Dave came from California

It was forecasted over 80 degree on the day, so Hiroko didn’t want to make fry foods, but S-san had already told her grand-children, chicken cutlet would be served, and S-san bought chicken breast.  Well, thanks for the cool weather; Hiroko made again chicken cutlets, sausage and BLT salad and other things.  They enjoyed the dinner.

Saturday, the first daughter of T-san/S-san, Shearin family came from Pittsburg.  One daughter couldn’t come.
Left over chicken cutlets, sausage, chicken teriyaki, BLT salad, and other things were served.

The Day of
The 50th Wedding Anniversary Dinner Party
The day’s host, the lady of the house, Amanda – She worked so hard to put things together and cooked many dishes.  You can see what she did the following photos.
This is Steven – he was doing many thing on the day, too.  This is one of the things.  He is spraying for mosquitoes.  One of Dan-san friends who had problem of mosquitoes in Hawaii said it is very good there’s no mosquitoes in this garden. Steven was carrying the spray can to spray the certain area for mosquitoes.
This sign was prepared by the Lady of the House.  This is same design of the invitation card.

The tent and table/chair were rented, and Amanda/Steven and other friends set them up.  When it is getting dark these torches all around the tent were lighted by Steven.
Table decoration – Seven big roses in the glass vase, blue balloons, and 1 bottle Don Perignon for each table to toast.
People enjoy playing toss game on the beautiful flat lawn.
Disk Jockey, Jimmy, this is wonderful idea, Amanda.  He was very good, too.

After toast, Leo san shared how he become friends with T-san/S-san and Dan-san.  It was very nice.  Hiroko’s best friend in Chicago was his wife.  If she is here today they will celebrate their 53rd Wedding Anniversary.  By the way, there were two more couple celebration their over 50th Wedding Anniversary; T-san/S-san, and Ch-san/Em-san.  Okinawa-san will celebrating her 50th anniversary next month, but her husband is with the Lord Jesus in His Kingdom.  Isn’t it so hard for her and Leo-san to attend this kind of celebration?
Hiroko was given a chance to share how Dan-san in America and Hiroko in Japan ccould marry.  Well, many people’s concern and love made Dan-san and Hiroko together.  It will be too long to write at here, so someday Hiroko will post this sharing.

Disk Jockey, Jimmy sung songs continuously, while everyone were eating delicious food.
Hiroko forgot to take the photos of foods.  Very, very regrettable!
Finally, he changed his costumes and became Neil Diamond? and Elvis Presley.

However, with the help by Lisa and Dave, Dan-san danced with Lisa and Hiroko danced with Dave.
