Cucumber Seed Beds, Nursery

It has been warm in Chicago this year 2012, but it is still in the middle of April. Hiroko gave many thoughts and made the cucumber seed beds before going to Las Vegas. This year 2012 cucumber seeds collected from the cucumber was grown in Hiroko’s pot, so whether it is good seeds to put forth buds or not, Hiroko was not sure.

The new idea of making the seeds bed was found in the internet. It looks like good idea which is using the egg cartons made of paper.

This is the egg carton made by paper.

Make couple of holes at the bottom of the cartons
Put the potting soil in the carton and wet the soil
Plant the seeds
Place a another egg carton made with plastic at the bottom of the paper one to hold the water
Here are the seeds beds

During the trip to Las Vegas for 5 days, no water could be given. Hiroko asked couple of ladies in her church, one lady said cover them with plastic. It should keep the water from evaporating. Hiroko did as she said and left to Las Vegas.

What has happened to the seed beds 5 days after?

All the seeds put forth the buds, and looked like a beans sprout. Hiroko felt so bad for the cucumber sprouts. Hiroko worried the home made seeds would not put forth the buds, or thought the buds would be coming out 3 weeks later, so she did not prepare for replanting pots.

It is so much vain of the people’s thoughts or schemes. The Bible teaches us that.
Proverbs 16:9
“In their hearts humans plan their course, but the LORD establishes their steps.

Hiroko was so busy for 2 days after coming home from Las Vegas that those cucumber sprouts were there quietly during the time. “SORRY!”

Those sprouts replanted to larger pots.

Those sprouts would be delivered to the people who wanted Japanese cucumber.

Well, those sprouts hopefully will grow strong and bear lots cucumbers in 2012 summer.
