Bridal Shower, Life

Dan-san’s nephew, Steven is going to marry on June 2, at Los Cabos in Mexico. His bride’s named Amanda is very beautiful girl. Elsa planned to give a bridal shower for her on April 22, Saturday.

This bridal shower cannot be potluck. Amanda told Elsa that the attendee of the shower will be 20 people. Elsa didn’t know who they are, so no way to ask those who come to shower to bring some food. After giving lots of consideration, Elsa called catering food service, and asked for bringing the foods, drinks, setting up the table, serving the foods, and cleaning. Elsa was happy to know she didn’t have to do anything. It was Hiroko’s beyond imagination but busy people like Elsa, it is very convenient service. Elsa said that money cannot buy the time. Hieroko did not have to do anything, but enjoy watching Elsa’s hard work.

Well, the day of shower:
We arrived at the house of Steven, where this shower was held little earlier, so Elsa had fun with Amanda’s dog.

The catering shop’s car arrived.

Elsa and Lisa went out to greet the service personnel and helped her bring in all the foods and drinks.

Very capable catering service personnel

Here is the lunch that came from catering – smoked salmon, bagels, cheese and some seasoning to make Salmon on the Rocks, fruits dish, vegetable dish, and two kinds of sandwiches, and for the drinks, coffee, water, soda, and Champaign.
Elsa’s had been worrying about not having enough foods for everyone in vain. Look at these foods and looks very delicious. It was very delicious.

The beautiful flower came from Amanda’s sister-in-law to be, Leslie in California.

Lunch Time

Everyone was enjoying this delicious lunch. Hiroko was too busy to eat, so didn’t take many photos.

Presents, prizes and party favors

The part of the Bridal Shower presents, and game prizes and party favors

Let’s start a game which was everything about Amanda.

One paper filled with the questions about Amanda was handed to everyone. How much do you know about Amanda? What is her middle name? What color does she like? At what kind of restaurant was she working as her part-time job? There were many other questions.

Prizes, Prizes

Here was the prize for number 1 person. WOW! Am I number 1?

Now, let’s open the presents.

You can’t imagine how happy Amanda is! She was very good to give her comment and appreciation to each one of the present. Every one was helped to record what she got, to gather the presents one place, to collect wrapping paper in the waste bags, etc.

With the ribbon from the present the bouquet was made. Amanda became the queen of the day with the bouquet. Hiroko told her to use the bouquet at the wedding rehearsal day.

Someone told Amanda to cut the ribbon for having baby soon. Amanda tried to cut the ribbon so hard.

After opening presents, there were still lots of time and lots of prizes, so another game were started.

A piece of paper contained one question was picked from the basket. The person who have the paper asked with pantomime to find out the answer. It was fun game, too.
Surprisingly Elsa made up all those games and thought about the questions with the little help of Steven.

Please don’t forget your prizes and party favor.

Good-bye! See you again!

Finally finished!

Done! Done!

Amanda said, “Thank you, Elsa. You did good job for me. Everyone was enjoying the foods and drinks, and everything. Thanks again!”

There wasn’t any bride or baby shower customs in Japan. Hiroko didn’t know young people in Japan had any kind of shower. Hiroko thinks the shower is very good customs for bride and especially for the expecting mother.
